First time visiting?
Get to know Crocker Bible Baptist Church before you visit.
We teach the Bible - it always comes before man's opinion.
Here you will find information on our beliefs, and vision, and our leadership, the missions we support, and Frequently Asked Questions. You can also find answers to Frequently Asked Questions, such as how we handle communion and offerings, and what to expect on your first visit.
Our Beliefs
We view the Bible as God's Word. We follow what it tells us about Jesus Christ, the Holy Ghost, sin, baptism, and communion.
In a very real sense, "we have no creed but Christ, no book but the Bible". The basis of our unity is our faith in Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of the Living God, and our adherence to the Bible as the inspired Word of God for our teaching.
Unity: We seek a unity of understanding in the essentials of our faith, yet do not suggest that we must agree on all things pertaining to our walk in Christ. On many issues we have the freedom to disagree. We do ask, however, that all who accept and hold a leadership or teaching position at Crocker Bible Baptist Church respect and teach these beliefs. Unity in the body depends upon harmony and mutual trust in the leadership.
Church membership: We are an independent, fundamental, Christian Baptist Church. We have several requirements for Church membership: 1.) You must be a believer in Jesus Christ as the only begotten Son of God; 2.) be willing to repent of sin and surrender to His lordship; 3.) to confess this faith before others; 4.) to obey Him in Christian baptism; 5.) and continue in faithful discipleship. You are welcome to have a discussion with the Pastor, a Deacon, or other Church leadership, to clarify any questions.
Leadership
We are currently seeking for a new Pastor, the right man, whom the Lord leads, directs, and calls.
In the mean time, Pastor John C. Allen, from Emmanuel Baptist Church on McCool Road, in South Haven (Valparaiso) fills the Pulpit on Sunday Evening, and Thursday Evening.
3 men, also from Emmanuel, help to fill the Pulpit on Sunday Morning.
Don Mulkey
Doug Mulkey (Don's son)
Dan Oliver
We also have a Deacon; a Pulpit Committee; and others in leadership.
Do you have a children's program? We have a nursery, and if the Lord brings families with children, we can have a children's program.
How should I dress? Wear whatsoever makes you feel comfortable and respectable. Some of us like to wear our "Sunday best", and others prefer more casual attire.
What kind of music should I expect? We tend to sing traditional Hymns, from old-fashioned Hymnals. We have a piano that is used regularly, otherwise, CDs, or Streaming MIDI files from Cyber Hymnal are back up options. We also have 2 organs, if the Lord leads someone to come, who can play them.
Can visitors take communion? We offer communion to all baptized believers of Christ.
Are visitors expected to give money? Offering time is for members to show their support of Crocker Bible Baptist Church with their tithes. As a visitor, it is up to you. You are welcome to participate in offering time if you wish, but you are not expected to give anything unless you feel called by God to contribute.
What will happen in my first visit? You will be offered a "Welcome" card by one of our established members. Please fill out the card and drop it in the offering plate. We will not announce your visit or single you out in any way, it is merely a way of getting to know our guests.
What safety measures are you taking against COVID-19? Masks and social distancing are not strictly required, but please respect the comfort levels of other members.
